^^ I wholly agree with you. To me this seems like just another excuse for Apple to make money. After all, Microsoft did upgrade the Zune software, and Sony updated the playstation with loads of new features and no extra charge.

I still don’t understand the whole “accounting” excuse people keep giving as the reason for this. Last time I checked, isn’t Google Maps a Google app?!? If Google doesn’t charge for its apps (see the rest of Google’s offering at the App store) why would Apple have to charge for them?!?

That was the only front-facing iPod Touch image I could find on Apple.com. And since I wasn’t too well I couldn’t afford editing it to fit the story.

Personally, I couldn’t care less about the Street View. I don’t know how I would ever be able to ‘use it’. Sure it looks cool (for about 10 seconds) but the novelty wears off.
