If you’re a fan of Pixelmator, this will come in handy. The team has put together a special page “Learn”, listing out text, video, and third party tutorials for creating special effects using only Pixelmator. If you’ve been on the fence for buying Pixelmator, doubting its capabilities, you need to see what can be done with this easy to use image editing application. I myself was surprised.
The team will be adding more tutorials to the site soon. This is also a chance for you to create tutorials and submit them to the Pixelmator team.
The learn website debuts alongside the Pixelmator 1.4.1 update:
Pixelmator 1.4.1 introduces a noise filter, which allows the artist to quickly apply random pixels to an image. This allows users to create realistic textures and special effects and provides advanced retouching capabilities. The current update also offers minor user interface and performance improvements as well as bug fixes to the application.
Pixelmator costs $60 for a single user license, but you can even use the code in the SA Magazine Issue 3 to get a 20% discount.
Note: Pixelmator is our site sponsor, but I would have written this post anyway.
