Hi.
I have a question about the article.
“The audio quality definitely suffers if you’re playing some high resolution audio on good quality speakers, but for most part it’s pretty good.”
What do you mean by that? I have read an article about Apple’s AirPlay function using iTunes: the audio transmitted over the network was not degraded in any way (a lossless wav’s file PCM was compared to the output of the Airport Express optical output and there was no difference).
I have looked at the Airfoil webpage, but have not found any technical info on the quality.
Do you know something about this? Is the audio degraded when using Airfoil?
I am quite interested, because almost all my music is in lossless 16-bit/44.1 KHz.

Perfect scenario:

I’m at my neighbours house and I wan’t to play them a really awesome song I just got. Problem is, I don’t have it on my iphone yet as I am yet to sync.

I just use remote.app to play the song on my computer at home, and airfoil to stream it back to the iphone, and then play it trough a set of speakers.

Hey Teucher — I agree — it is the video — but wouldn’t it be wonderful if they came up with something that would make it work the right way — if they have gotten this far, they should be able to take the next step — hope someone who does this kind of stuff see the value in developing the next “Airfoil”.
