Thanks for all your thoughts on aperture. I would like to ask this question, can some one tell me how to make professional photos with aperture? I mean how it works.

I'll join the crowd saying I prefer Lightroom.

There are some UI elements that I preferred in Aperture (e.g., its pretty seamless integration with iLife), and I do like the idea of its "Books" feature (though I never used it). However, Lightroom easily wins in the nondestructive editing ("development") area; for example, adjustments can be "brushed" locally in Lightroom, not in Aperture. The printing interface is Lightroom is also noticeably nicer. Finally, Photoshop integration is also better in Lightroom.

whoa! Dude, you completely left out the bigest concern for professional photographers-Raw support. And not all RAW softwares are built equal. Some people will swear by Capture NX others with capture one.

I'm not usually one to comment, but I thought I had to after reading this post.

This was a horrible comparison. As someone else said it was just regurgitating Apple’s marketing points.

I stumbled across SmokingApples sometime ago and though initially was a good blog, but as of late the quality of the posts have been lame at best.

Sorry, but I think you just lost a reader.

I just started using Aperture and like it in many of the ways outlined, but I am having issues--as one example, when in "printer manage" mode my HP 9180 printer does not recognize Aperture versions, it prints the original image. Kind of a showstopper for now. I waited until 2.0 knowing that Apple usually releases products with bugs in them, but there are still problems that make this software less than professional.
