I'm a newbie and want to start building websites the right way with Coda. I'm having a hard time getting started and would like to know if Coda has a manual. The website info is really vague.

I'm a long time user of Panic's Transmit.

However, as much as I want to give up Dreamweaver and use Coda, Coda is missing one key thing. That is templates.

I have generic site constructions created using templates. When I want to create a new site, I choose which template style I want, and then customize the templates. All the pages in the site then update.

When Coda has a feature that works like Dreamweaver's Templates, I'll gladly use dump DW and only use Coda.

Nice article, one thing not mentioned that I find invaluable is the books feature.

I primarily work in PHP but I have been on occasions asked to work on an existing ASP site and it's great to have all my reference books and websites in one place.

I have about 50 or so books in Coda at the minute, everything from the included HTML desk reference to the full Joomla! Developer manual... it's awesome!

I'm afraid you may be confused by what the writer meant by "Live Preview" . The preview will update only after you close the site AFAIK or if you manually right click the site thumbnail and choose "refresh image".

I could be wrong though.

Nice article. I'm not even a MAC person but if I'm coding I don't think twice about using Coda over every other program. I kind of like the FTP personally because it trumps dreamweaver but I've admittedly only used those two IDE's for the most part.

BUT the best part of Coda that you didnt mention is the built in terminal where you can easily SSH into your server right in the program. I'm sure a lot of people might not use this feature but I love it.
