Hey look! Another Twitter app for iPhone. But this one does video! For cereal?! What else does it do? Ummmm… nothing. Great.
So what does Twitvid do? It posts videos to twitvid.com, and nothing else. How wonderful. Twittelator Pro, bastion of poor UI design, can already post videos. I’m currently beta testing a quality Twitter app that will allow you to post videos to yfrog and Posterous (guess somebody cares). And I’d bet money the next version of Tweetie and pretty much every other twitter client will include support as well. So why would you want Twitvid when there’s really good Twitter apps, and Twittelator, coming soon with video support? Cause this one’s free. That’s why.
There’s nothing wrong with Twitvid. It works. No bugs. There one interesting feature of Twitvid, is that your followers can begin watching the video as it is being uploaded. Twitvid will send your tweet with a link, and then begin uploading the video so there’s minimal delay between the time your cat does a flip, and the time the Internet collectively says, “Awwww.”
If it were a paid app, I’d say pass, but it ain’t gonna cost you anything. So if you really need to tweet videos of your cat from your iPhone, far be it from me to try to stop you. Oh, and it goes without saying you need a shiny new 3GS to use this app.
