In case you haven’t noticed and followed along those beautiful blocks of bright pixels above the fold, here’s a little shout out for our sponsors.

Pixelmator

It was one of our earliest reviews on Smoking Apples, and we loved it. If you’re looking for an alternative to Photoshop, you can’t go wrong with Pixelmator. It certainly won’t fill in as a graphics tool for the professional—Photoshop is just too powerful and expansive—but for the average user Pixelmator will provide a beautiful native user interface with as little complexity as possible. Their last update brought in a stunning Brush engine, while their next one is said to have a whole new take on web graphics. At $59 for a license, you can use the discount code “SMOKINGAPPLES” to get 20% off the top.

Marketcircle’s Daylight and Daylight Touch

Currently under the SA scanner and hence not officially reviewed, I’ll spit out some details from the product page. “Daylite is a business productivity manager designed to help you manage your business and your team. With features such as project collaboration, shared calendars, task delegation, and sales tracking, Daylite helps you move your business forward.” With a companion app available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, if small business collaboration is your thing, Daylight might just be the answer.

The Mac Sale

Last few days left for the Mac Sale. If you’ve just switched to the Mac, or have bought a new machine, this can be a great way to fill it up with software without spending big. It’s got some great big titles Flux, Interarchy, and Iris, which would cost you more than the bundle itself. And more importantly, real cool apps like Writeroom, Taskpaper, Houdaspot, Stuf, which can add value to your system. $49 for $450 worth of apps.

Cram

Another app under review, but my initial impressions have been quite positive. Cram helps you study on your Mac and iPhone by letting you create flashcards, and then follow up with that by answering tests and gauging answers. Sure it could use a better user interface, but it serves the ultimate goal of staying out of your way.

Amazon

While not directly a sponsor, we do make a few bucks from referrals earned from Amazon links. If you’re ever going to buy something from the world’s biggest market (or somewhere thereabouts), do follow through our link and support SA without doing a thing.

And most of all, thank you for subscribing to and reading Smoking Apples. If you ever need to know anything Mac, and we haven’t covered it yet, you know how to reach us!

Haha! Good one. I guess the secret had to come out some day. Yes. We are totally ‘bought’. :)
