New builds of Snow Leopard bring in visual tweaks

by Chris Zehm on July 11, 2009

As Apple nears its September release of Snow Leopard (less than three months to go!), they’re slowly adding minor changes that will differentiate Snow Leopard from the regular boring one. While the beta builds are still protected by NDA and we’re not supposed to know about this, loud mouths around the web have gone so far as providing juicy details with screenshots.

While the latest builds of Snowy are faster and more stable than previous ones, we all knew it was going to be that way. The interesting bit is that Apple is slowly introducing minor UI tweaks to the system that’s shedding its aqua skin and bringing in the Marble.

Another change is the contexual menu for dock items, which takes on a dark translucent look compared to the black text on grey that’s sported in Leopard.

As Ars notes, it’s very possible for Apple has got even more and is just waiting till September to wow us at the last minute.

Or else Apple would would gave been slapped with moral charges for releasing a paid ‘service pack’ kind of thing. Whatever happens on the inside, UI changes are a must to drive users towards a newer OS.

BTW you guys have a nice web theme for iPhone users!
