Adobe, in a public announcement, is set to unveil the next instalment of its product line, the Creative Suite 4. On schedule with their 18 month product cycle, CS4′s coming will be a nice refresher to CS3 which has been here since March 07.
That’s right we will be officially announcing the 4th version of the Creative Suite on September 23rd. Now before you get the wrong idea, this is NOT the release date but rather our official unveiling of it.
So while the official release of the product itself will be at a later date, Adobe will demo the applications and discuss new features. Beta versions of Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Soundbooth are already available for download, but I’m sure everyone’s eyes are on the flagship product, Photoshop. Besides that, Flash should also get a hefty upgrade, now with all the PDF support in Acrobat.
Note that Photoshop CS4 is supposed to get the 64bit treatment on the Windows end, while the mac users will have to do with a 32bit Photoshop. This is because 64bit is only supported on applications written in Cocoa, while Adobe has stuck to the legacy codebase of Carbon. For a detailed and informative explanation about this, read up on John Nack’s blog post.

“Its going to be brilliant” says Adobe. I sure hope so!
