The rumours were true after all. Apple will host a notebook event at Apple’s Town Hall in Cupertino on October 14. The invite reads: “The spotlight turns to notebooks.”, featuring a ray of light over a notebook (aluminum casted 13″ MacBook?).
Will we see a new MacBook Pro? Will we see a $800 MacBook (Indians rejoice!)? What’s up with the “Brick” Technology (MacBook carved out of a single block of aluminum)?
Apple’s notebook event is scheduled for next Tuesday at 1000 hours PST (2230 hours IST). We might host a Live Chat right on this blog like how we did for the Let’s Rock Event. Be tuned to find out more.

In all probability, yes. We’ll let you know. Stay tuned.
Can’t wait to see Jobs on stage…
i just hope the chat turns out alright this time around.
Lets make this a smoking event!
Hmmm … so the discounts in India were truly stock clearance.
Apple seems to be finally making attempts to come out of it’s niche uber-rich clientele.
Oh but does this mean that the MBA has failed and to make up for it Apple is planning to leverage it’s brand value by coming out with cheaper laptops?

It’s not really stock clearance. If you buy a Mac with an education discount from the USA, then you get the old generation iPod and not the new one which is announced at that time.
@Ashwin, if you get the old iPods and not the new one, how is it not stock clearance?
Really excited about the event. Been waiting for a macbook like for ages.
Heres some fresh news..
As i was thinking, the macbooks will sport the nvidia chipsets for better graphics. Also dont be surprised if A blu ray rom is offered on all the notebooks. This is simply gr8 news! just the things that were missing from the current lineup.
Checked out those rumours.
I do think however that Bluray is moot on the MacBook Pro. At least for movies, who wants to watch a 1080p movie on a 15″ or even 24″ display? A nice widescreen TV is the only real way to watch something like that. However, for large amounts of data, etc, a bluray writer might just be added as a build-to-order option. The Nvidia rumour looks good though. Apple has suddenly realised that people like to game and might push it to the MacBooks as well. The Funnest MacBook ever?
