Thanks for lettin' me know how it worked out for you. To be honest, the most I've spent using my phone not jailbroken is a few days and personally I didn't notice a huge difference. Thanks for lettin' me know how it worked out with just Grooveshark installed, though. I guess some of the added background jailbreak services and such add to slowing stuff down as well. There's always Spotify in the store as well if you can figure out a way to get it all working (would require quite, quite a bit of work, however).

Well, after a week of messing around with a little jailbreaking and Grooveshark on the iPhone, I've restored it back to 'locked'. I love Grooveshark and what the jailbreak community is bringing to the iPhone, but for me personally I noticed a huge slow down in my iPhone's performance. I only installed Grooveshark, no themes or anything that would be resource hogs, so I was a little disappointed. I'm running with a 3G so it may just be a hardward issue. It wasn't horrible and I could've made do, but it irritates me more when my iPhone's not smooth than it does not having Grooveshark on my phone. Hopefully Apple will pull their head out of their collective asses and allow this app in officially... until then I guess I'll just have to wait it out.

Grooveshark is intended to be a streaming service. As mentioned in the page Milind linked, artists are paid every tome a song is streamed. So copying offline songs is piracy just as P2P and torrenting would be, just so you know. That being said, the offline files are all downloaded as mp3's and located in the iPhone filesystem. Up to you to find and copy them.

Nice, my plan is working! If something's not working out or you're thinking about going back (for whatever reason) feel free to get in touch to let me know. I like to know whether it sticks on people or if there's any sacrifice / annoyances that get to you.

I think the music industry should support these services too. In the end though I just want to feel comfortable knowing that whatever services I am using is legal and pays the proper royalties.
