Just two days ahead of time, Kevin Rose at a Diggnation Live show at SXSW mentions some things about what’s coming, and what’s not, with the new iPhone 3.0 software. Now I know some of you are touchy about hearing this kind of stuff before the event, stop reading now. I mean it.
For those who like to see what Santa has brought for them before Christmas, just hit play! Be warned that there is some strong language used throughout the video. For details and opinion hit Continue Reading.
Is it just me, or did Alex Brecht look jealous that Kevin had all the info? He just looked so sad, like when the rich kid takes the poor kid along for the ride, out of pity.
Back on topic, copy and paste! Finally! He also mentions that background services are not going to make it, and neither is video recording. He hasn’t heard anything about MMS. He mentions that Apple is bringing the iPhone up to speed with the Palm Pre. “Whatever they thought they had on Apple, is now gone away”.
I think while the iPhone 3.0 software might not be able to do those things, the next generation iPhone that’s definitely set to release in June is going to come with Background services and Video recording. Rose does mention that video recording is a technical difficulty, so they might probably fix that with the next Gen iPhone.
Is the iPhone 3.0 software going to make you unjailbreak your iPhone? If the above is true, probably not. What is left to see however is what the next generation iPhone is capable of. Do stay tuned for the big day fast approaching.
