Tweetie, our staff favourite twitter client for the iPhone, has just been updated to version 1.2. If you haven’t checked out Tweetie yet, I highly suggest you do. We’ve reviewed the app as well as the developer Loren Brichter, so that’s plenty of reading material for you.
Tweetie 1.2 brings in some solid improvement in terms of UI, features, and bug fixes. The ‘simple’ theme has been greatly enhanced, with just the right amount of shading and size. Swiping across a tweet brings up the @reply, Profile, and Favorite buttons. Multiple account support has also been enhanced, as you can now switch your twitter account right from the compose window.
Atebits has tweaked everything, and brought in a lot of customisation. You can specify the compression of images uploaded, specify the number of tweets to download on launch, and brought in an entire new framework, PEE or Popularity Enhancer.
So what’s this PEE framework then?
PEE is a collection of ever-growing technologies scientifically designed to enhance the size of that certain something… You guessed it: App Store sales!
Teams from around the globe have analyzed figures and come up with a secret formula for App Store success. I share these findings today, ABSOLUTELY FREE. Success is made up of: aFLASHLIGHT…. and DIRTY WET FART SOUNDS!!!
Tweetie is the only app that bundles together these two incredible features FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME. Accept no imitations. Why buy a dedicated fart app AND a flashlight, when you can have BOTH, and get a TWITTER CLIENT along with it!!! - The PEE product page.
Reading through the post I thought it was a nice joke, but as soon as Tweetie updated on my iPhone, I saw the said PEE switch in my iPhone settings! After enabling the setting, swiping across a tweet will produce a fart noise along with showing you the controls. And the “More” tab now features a flashlight. Is this awesome or what!
If you’re on twitter, I’d highly recommend Tweetie [$2.99 - iTunes link] With 1.2, the app just gasses the competition out of the water…
