Released amidst all of the new Mac announcements today, was Tapulous’ latest game, Tap Tap Revenge 2. A sequel to their ever popular iPhone game, TTR 2 is definitely worth the 2.0 tag.
The first thing that will strike you is the new 3D engine that TTR users. First introduced in December with the Tap Tap Dance edition, the new engine features multi-tap, Tap and hold, and instant feedback. Besides, the colours splashing all over are just plain gorgeous.
The big news of TTR2 however, is it now features over 150 downloadable tracks. By default you get three tracks, one each from Death Cab for Cutie, a song by Stroke9 specially recorded for TTR2, and debuting a new song by The Crystal Method, months before the official album release.
The game features different modes of gameplay, two player mode, online gamerooms, kiddy mode, and more.
With the brand new Challenge A Friend mode, you can email the game you just played to any of your friends. Your friend will play head to head against the game you just finished, and see at all times who is ahead with a progress bar that accounts for every single ball you hit or missed! A couple of the guys at our office haven’t gotten any work done since we finished this feature, so we’re pretty sure this is addictive.
Tap Tap Revenge 2 [iTunes link] is a free download, just like it’s first iteration. If you have an iPhone (or iPod Touch), you need to get this app. If you have an iPhone and already have TTR 1 installed, delete it and get TTR2. If you already have TTR2 installed on your iPhone, way to go! And if you don’t have an iPhone, get one. Video demo of the game after the jump.

Just downloaded it. The new gaming engine is stunning (love the tap to hold). However I wish they still had Louie Mantia doing their graphics. While these are good ‘wow’ wise, I think Louie would have done a much better job.
Great game though!
I find all the Tapulous stuff fabulous.
