With every new social network that comes into the mainstream, comes an additional task of keeping it up to date. You wouldn’t want to have your Flickr account go dry as you concentrate on Facebook do you? So far we’ve seen excellent implementations of uploading pictures to one site or another. But what shooting a image to all sites all at once? You can guess what this is leading to…
PhotoScatter
The first app to pop out of the “Unique Apps” stables, PhotoScatter will send your image to any one of the available photo services. The list currently includes Facebook, Flickr, Twitter (TwitPic), Picasa, Shutterfly, and Photobucket. At first launch you set up each of the services, authorizing them as you would with any other app. Easy and painless.
Once the setup is done, you can either snap images using the camera, or use library images. Then quickly tap on each of the services you need to upload to. You can add a title and description. In case of Twitter, the title will become your tweet, so take care of the number of characters you want to add in. Uploading takes about a minute or two for all of the services, and you’re done.
And some more
Ryan Wade, developer of the app has done a fairly decent job with the user interface of PhotoScatter. It’s clean, intuitive, and fast. Surprising considering what a Windowsy mess the PhotoScatter website is. Version 2 of the app promises to bring in additional services, which I hope include Tumblr, FriendFeed, WordPress, and maybe even Img.ly support for Twitter posts.
$1.99 at the App Store, PhotoScatter is a good deal if you’re looking to keep up with your social networks.
