Just when you thought Apple doesn’t listen to popular demand, the new Mac mini server is dropped onto this world. Featuring the same enclosure as was introduced in March ’09, the new mini keeps the $599 price point but gets minor bumps in specs. The base model is now 2.26Ghz going up to 2.66Ghz on the high end. You can put 4GB of memory in there, and an optional BTO 500GB hard drive.
The biggest change however, is that when you order the mini with Snow Leopard Server, Apple adds in an extra hard drive, bumping the total storage space to 1TB. I wonder if Apple ships a separate enclosure without the slot for the non-existent SuperDrive.
The rest of the story stays the same—bring your own keyboard, mouse, display. Check out the details on the Mac mini page.
