For typing, I use AirMouse for iPhone (http://www.mobileairmouse.com), since I'd already bought a copy to control my Windows machine earlier this year. I have an old Mac Mini on a refrigerator that streams music downstairs, and if I'm in the living room for example, Apple's app allows me change the volume, scroll through my entire library, etc. It's pretty trick.
