[tweetmeme]Sure there are numerous iPhone stands available, but if you have one of the new sleek aluminum and glass iMacs, you might consider getting one that matches your iMac. The iClooly from Pyramid Distribution may fit your needs.
As soon as I opened the package, I was slightly disappointed. Along the edges of the iClooly, you can see machining marks. It’s a very rough along the front edge and along the edge of the stand. The headphone port was also deformed. But enough with the bad, lets get to the good.

The iClooly makes your iPhone look somewhat like a mini iMac, and for that fact is kinda cool. Able to position your iPhone in both widescreen and portrait, it leaves full access to all the ports and buttons except for the silence button. When you insert your iPhone into the iClooly, the housing pushes the silence button to off so you don’t have to worry about the iPhone being stuck in the stand on silent. When the iPhone is sitting in the iClooly, it is very top heavy, especially in widescreen mode. If you bump it, be prepared to catch your iPhone as it falls forward in the stand. In the long sides of the iClooly are ridges to hold the iPhone in, and they do a very good job. It takes a hard shake to get the iPhone to fall out, but the proper technique to remove the iPhone is a button on the back that will push out the top edge of the iPhone so you can grab it.

Since using the iPhone’s speaker isn’t ideal when listening to music or watching movies, there is a headphone adapter included with the iClooly if you are using headphones that don’t fit through the iClooly’s headphone port.
Since my iPhone is always in 1 of 3 places (my hand, my pocket, or on my Griffin Tech Simplifi dock), I’m not sure I’d ever get a stand like this. Even if something like this does interest you, you may want to look around first. While the idea and execution of it is nice, finish quality leaves a little to be desired. I think in order to make a winner, Pyramid Distribution should weight the base a little more, or make it longer. They also need to check their finish quality. I think $30 is a little much for the quality that you are getting.

An oversized iPod Touch and now a shrunk iMac? Apple’s going kawaii. ;D
I recommend trying a Luxa H1-Touch
The Xtand that you guys reviewed a whileback is the best stands around according to me, but they should still do something about the ugly rubber pads that hold the phone in.
Nothing is perfect.
