Vimeo introduces a iPhone-compatible HTML5 player →

Since we rolled out the HTML5 player in January people have been clamoring for an embeddable version, especially for iPhones and iPads. Today we’re taking a big leap forward for compatibility and updating our embed code. We call it the Universal Player.

This is huge! Vimeo’s embed code was one of the last few major Flash holes on iOS devices. Practically every other video site offered an iOS optimised player, and now Vimeo, too. Adobe of course is not bothered by this. They’re too busy moving on.

Unfrotunaly plus users have to turn on mobile for it to work, so iPhone/iPod touch users are still left out.
