Bush Williams thinks over the month that has been since he upgraded to the 3GS, and how all the ‘newness’ plays out in real world usage. It’s a fairly detailed writeup, concluding with:

My final verdict on the 3GS is that if you already have a 3G and are happy, I would wait for June of 2010. The features are nice, but for most of us, not necessary. If your new to the iPhone, that extra $100.00 to get the “S” is, in my opinion, the way to go, yet I can’t find a soap box to stand on for those who still choose the $99.00 3G.

Without a doubt, the memory/CPU upgrades alone are worth it on the 3GS. The rest is a bonus.

It is SO much faster now.

I could never go back to a plain old 3G. The speed and video are a must.

Hey Smoking Apples, thanks for the link to my blog! My personal feelings on the 3GS are quoted above, however I do also mention in this post that the only way I would go back to a 3G would be unwillingly. The speed boost can not be denied, but that doesn’t make the 3G slow by any means. Thanks again, I just started this blog two weeks ago so your link to it is much appreciated!

I moved from the first iPhone, so the 3Gs was major upgrade for me. Drastic increase in speed both on the iPhone its self and in the network. The battery lasts a lot longer, and the video is so much more useful than I thought it would be.
