Safari 4 BETA leaves a messy trail →

C. Harwick digs around inside Safari 4 beta and finds that the browser is terrible at housekeeping:

If you’re a stickler for disk space like I am, or a stickler for privacy (or, heaven help you, both), Safari’s poor housekeeping is quite alarming.

Well it’s still in BETA, so hopefully the final version will come clean.

Don’t know what he is talking about re: cache and undeleted metadata (beginning of article). I have 2000 items in there, but they only go back three days and take up 6MB of space. Has he really tried using the “empty cache” command in the menu, or “reset”. Seems a no-brainer, and it seems to work.

yep. I agree with kizedek.
