Seth Weintraub shows how the Lauren didn’t even enter the Apple Store!
Notice at 0:13 when she walks into the store, there is a balding guy with jacket and striped shirt and camera walking by. He is still walking by when she leaves the store filmed on the other camera.
I curse myself for actually believing Microsoft’s PR that this was a real world scenario.

But it is a real world scenario, or at least pretty darned close to it. What would you do if you only had a budget of $1,000 and you wanted a 17-inch notebook? Apple doesn’t make any in that range (the crappy white MacBook notwithstanding), so your only option would’ve been to buy a “craptop” from some other company.
As I noted in my article about this though, it is a little unscrupulous to assume that she wanted a 17-inch notebook in the first place. But then again, it’s an advertisement and, frankly, I do not expect advertisements to firmly stick to reporting the facts.
Microsoft’s PR told the associate press that this was a real world scenario, with cameras following real people found on craigslist. Now I know ‘real people’ is every person on this world, and ‘real cameras’ is also every camera on this earth. But it’s just misleading.
Oh kay mooonn…. Even Reality show is staged. All stuff on TV/video are staged.
I wouldn’t have minded if it was just that way. The fact is that MS lied to the press by saying that this was a real world scenario. That Lauren had no idea this was going to be an ad. That she was overjoyed her video was picked for the ad (after the shooting).
