Messages—the secret to the iPhone’s success in India →
Aayush Arya writes for Macworld:
As I was following the live blog of Tuesday’s iPhone 3.0 event though, one new feature among the many outlined by Apple stood out to me and gave me hope that the iPhone may finally be able to capture more of the Indian market. It’s the new Message app—specifically, its ability to forward and delete individual and multiple messages.
I think the success of the iPhone in India depends on a lot more than just SMS forwarding. The general public opinion that iPhone is a “luxury” product, that they know more about what it can’t do rather than what it can, and the fact that you rarely find Indians purchasing paid apps from the App Store tends to result in these low sales. Smoking Apples is trying to change that; one convert at a time!
