iPad, in all its glory →

As Apple started accepting Pre-orders for its magical and revolutionary device, the features page also got updated. Some surprises:

  1. Safari has a thumbnail grid view for pages.
  2. The iBooks app will accept any books in the ePub format. Sync them via iTunes.
  3. There’s no ‘Dashboard view’ replacing Spotlight. It’s still wasted on one gigantic list of skewed results.
  4. Still no mention of iTunes LP in the iPod app.
  5. There’s a physical Screen rotation lock button, so you don’t have to suffer reading in awkward positions.
  6. [Update, via Macworld] The iPad supports AVI videos, with a data rate of up to 35mbps.
